Window Poetry

I miss you / it’s so dark outside
when I lean out my window I mistake headlights
for shooting stars trying their hardest
to run their hands over the ground / there are no Muses
anymore, just rain on a mountaintop
that glows blue instead of gold / I am an ache
like new skin unable to tear…

In my dreams,
the whole sky opens
up like a mouth
torn in half by a yawn,
and out pours the
touches of hands and
the whispering of fingers
and sighs across soft skin.
I feel his
baring down in the
spaces between my ribs
and hips and know that
the void, empty and

date me to disappoint your parents
